Using a Violin Tuner to Tune Your Violin
“First, pluck the E string. If you’re way too low or you can’t even get a sound, use the peg.
Push in hard as you turn it away from you to make the sound higher. You need to push in hard every time, otherwise it won’t work.
For small adjustments, use the fine tuner. Turn it clockwise to make the sound higher.
WARNING: Do not move the peg too fast or too far. Otherwise, the string might break. But if you use the fine tuner, you can move it as much as you want. And you might have to move it a lot.”
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU TUNE YOUR VIOLIN?
Before every practice, check that your violin is in tune. If it's not, this video shows you how to quickly get back in tune.
The Trala app has a built-in tuner which is accessed directly from the home screen menu.
