Vibrato for Beginner Violinists
This is beginner vibrato. This is day one. Like the very first thing you do. You’ve got to have your hand move along with your wrist. Everything needs to move along as one action.
The idea is to keep your finger in the same spot. Your wrist is not moving. Your finger is not moving. It’s everything as one motion. You can see it gets smaller and smaller.
I’m starting with my second finger because it’s the easiest. The idea is to move your first joint back and forth. Your first joint, back and forth. Just your first joint.
And it should be led by your wrist. Lead with the wrist. And the wrist and the forearm are just moving together. In the end, you’re going to get back and forth.
