Drunken Sailor
Boisterously listing the many ways to sober up a sailor who’s had a little too much fun, Drunken Sailor was first sung on sailing ships in the early 1800s. Today, many people are familiar with this song through the show Spongebob Squarepants or covers recorded by Burl Ives, Pete Seeger, The Irish Rovers, and The King’s Singers in the second half of the 20th century.
